Every organization have goals. But newly starting organizations need to be clear understandings of Goals.So i am writing this page to navigate them to their Goals and helping them to build a way to reach their Goals.
Goal is depending upon 6 simple things for an organization.If you get it cleared those 6 things, you can set a goal for your organization and your team can walk themselves to reach your organization Goal. Those 6 things are,
- Knowledge of Future
- Purpose and Position of the Organization
- Define your Success
- Structure of your organization
- Competitor as Role Model
- Measurable Goal
1. Knowledge of Future
Every goal is future dependent. No goal will be achieved in past. So we must know about the future. Your goal may be achieved in 2 years or 5 years. But after 2 or 5 years, we must predict about the market, technology, competitors, products, employees etc. So if you aware about the future, then based on that you can set the goal as new output or improved output of your organization.
2. Purpose and Position of organization
Goal is not only depending upon the future It is also depend upon your objectives, actions etc. In that OAS(Objective, Advantage and Scope of your company) is very important. Answer of these three points will explain about your organization purpose and position.
You must know about your organization's objective. The reason of your organization existing or started. Based on that your goal will be set. Next one is advantage of your organization. There will be many organizations in the market like your organization which produce or serve your similar products or services. You need to be unique among them to survive in the market. The customers should feel a specific advantage from your organization. While setting the goal, you must be aware this one also.
And final one is Scope of your organization. While selling the products or servicing to your customers, you must aware about your scope. You are the only one to sell your product in the market. If you take other things on your head, you may loose your concentrate on your work. So play the game in your scope and be the master of your work
3. Define your Success
Without knowing your success, you cannot set a goal for you. For a tea shop, every glass of tea is success. So his goal will be 1000 glass of tea must be sold in a day. Similarly, if you know about your success then only you can set a valid goal to achieve.
4. Structure of your organization
We discussed about future, purpose of your company and success. Apart from that there will be an important thing is involved with your organization is structure and resources of your company. Your goal must be depend upon quantitative and qualitative of available resources. Based on available resources you need to set the goal. If your Goal is high you must increase your resources based on that goal. An very important theory is goal achieving is directly proportional to utilizing available resources.
5.Competitor as Role Model
As an founder of your organization, you know about your goal and process very well. But your employees may not understand your process and goal. In that you need to explain your process and goal to your employees. In that you can refer your competitors also. Many of the business owners have their role models as another business owners. You can refer many other organizations based on process. Because referring competitors is better than explaining your thoughts to your employees.
6.Measurable Goal
The final and very important one is goal should be measurable. In a football ground with out goal posts there is no goal. Similarly without measurable there is no goal. So, Your goal should be measurable not only calendar days. If a goal is measurable, then only you can run and measure your ability also.
So, Using these simple six points in your goal setting to get the successive goals and a way to achieve that goals.
